Choose a material after defining the product function and the conditions in which it will be used. For pet feeding products, a bowl, stand and storage hopper can use different materials. Describing the complete item with one broad material term can create purchasing and listing errors.

The elevated double bowl set combines ceramic bowls and a bamboo stand. Its supplied capacity wording is 28.74 oz per bowl; buyers should clarify the unit basis before converting it for packaging. These examples describe current records, not test reports.
Write a component-level specification
- Name each component and its intended function.
- Record the material and finish separately.
- Add dimensions, tolerances and sample reference where agreed.
- Define care instructions, inspection criteria and packaging protection.
- Request product-specific evidence for any claim you plan to publish.
Questions to resolve before a purchase order
Ask whether the sample and proposed production use the same component specification. Identify how substitutions, finish variation and packaging changes require approval. If outdoor use is planned, request the relevant exposure limits and tests; a sloped lid alone does not establish a waterproof rating.
